We’re no longer GI

So it’s come down to this. You guys may or may not know this, but the people who have been involved starting and running GI (not everyone did both) all these years are Vinit (vinitwins), Kailash (KrackChap), Vikram (markettantrik), Amol (CarconCore), and myself (HundredProofSam). We’ve had a disagreement as to how GI should progress, and that left Vinit on one side of the fence, and the rest of us on the other. As a result, the gamingindians.com domain (which Vinit owns) was redirected away to proboards without warning (I personally didn’t know about it till Cyclops experienced it and told me about it).

That leaves the rest of us, who have put our heart and soul into GI, with everything else – the server space, the blog posts, the forums and all the databases. And we would never let that die. We will be back, but probably under another name. The forums will be back as you remember them – MT will still have 20,000 posts, all the flamebait threads will be there as we left them, and Puspa will still be banned from Shout. All 4000+ members will be there. All that will change is the name.

To come up with a new name, we’re going to need suggestions from all of you. We’ll have the forums back up soon so we can discuss that and a lot more. As you guys can understand, we’ll have to remove all traces of “GamingIndians” from the databases before that happens. But we’re already working on that thanks to Nitin’s (ghb) expertise and it shouldnt be long before we’re back.

In the future, you may see a site come up called GamingIndians.com but unless something changes drastically in the next few days, the team that has built GI for the last three years, will have nothing to do with it. We’ve been asked to leave GI, and so we will.
